One of my favourite scenes in the series is the one where Katniss and Peeta converse about their favourite colours. This, for me, was the start of their prospering relationship as friends. And I think that I relate to this very well.

I really admired the gentleness of Peeta’s character. Not just because of his favourite colour, but because of how specific a shade he wanted it to be. It’s the simplicity of the details that can tell us who a person really is, and his character brought authenticity to a whole other level.

It’s almost like learning how to decipher one’s true self. Once you have learned to judge a person by their heart and personality, rather than by their outward appearances, you have learned to be a true friend. That’s what I absorbed from this particular scene.
